Team & People

You notice a team slipping before the resignation lands on your desk.

One question a week, anonymous, thirty seconds. What you see is the direction a team is heading in over weeks, not one person’s mood.

The problem

One Tuesday in November your best fitter hands in his notice. In the exit interview he says it has been going on since the spring. That day is the first you hear of it. Not because nobody had noticed anything, but because nobody knew who to tell without it counting as a complaint.

In a firm of thirty, the grapevine is no longer enough. You see the two teams you deal with daily, and you only hear about the others once something goes wrong. The annual review comes too late and is too formal for whatever is really weighing on people.

And anyone who has been asked once and then sees nothing happen will not answer the next time. A survey that leads to nothing does more damage than no survey at all.

What you get

✓
One question a week thirty seconds on a phone, with no sign-up and no account.
✓
The answers come in without names a group is not shown at all until there are five answers.
✓
The trend rather than the snapshot you see the direction over weeks, not the mood on a wet day.
✓
A separate read-out for each team fitting, office and service kept separate, because things rarely feel the same everywhere.
✓
A flag when a line falls three weeks in a row by email to you, with the question that tipped the balance.
✓
A free text box for whatever the question misses summarised by subject, quoted word for word only where nobody can be recognised from it.
✓
The questions rotate from a pool covering workload, management, equipment and teamwork, so it does not turn into a habit.
✓
Something back to the staff what was asked, what came out of it and what you are doing about it, in three sentences.

The question goes out by whatever route your people already use: a text, an email, a messaging app or a notice with a QR code in the workshop. Nobody needs an account for it.

How it works

01

Capture

You set the teams, how it goes out and the pool of questions. Every week one question goes out, always on the same day at the same time.

02

Process

The answers come in without names, are added up by team and only become visible once there are five of them.

03

Deliver

You get the trend per team, a flag after three falling weeks and a short piece of text you can pass on to the staff.

04

Review

You see where something is shifting, how many people answer and whether the line comes back up after a decision.

What you own

The answers, the questions and all the logins sit in your own accounts. The history is yours, even if you stop tomorrow.

We do not make you dependent on us. You are not renting a system, you are getting one.

Common questions

Is it really anonymous?+

We store no names and no device identifiers, and a group does not appear until there are five answers. To be straight with you: in a team of six, a free text comment still gives away who wrote it. That is why we summarise free text and only pass on the exact wording where it gives nobody away. Anyone who wants to be certain writes nothing in the box, and that is exactly what we tell your people too.

Does this replace talking to people?+

No, and it is not meant to. A number tells you where to look, not why. The why only comes out in conversation, round the table or in the van. If the pulse replaces the conversations, we have both got it wrong.

What if hardly anyone answers?+

Then that is the first honest answer you have had. A response rate only lasts if people can see something happen: three sentences to the staff after every round, and, the first time, a decision people notice. If the response rate stays below half over time, we advise you to stop rather than carry on.

There are twenty of us and I talk to everyone every day. Is it worth it?+

With twenty people in one workshop, often not. With twenty spread over four sites and two shifts, usually yes, because you rarely see half the crew. We tell you that in the intro call, before you pay anything.

What does the AI do with the answers?+

It summarises the free text and sorts it by subject, so you do not have to read eighty lines. It scores nobody and suggests no actions. The numbers are plain averages you can work out yourself. And the invitation says that a machine summarises the text, so that nobody finds out about it after the fact.

You hear about it before anyone hands in their notice.

An intro call, free and with no obligation. We go through how your teams are split and tell you honestly whether a weekly pulse would do anything for you, or whether two fixed meetings a month would be worth more.
